The Entry Form is required for all skaters. Reminders You should arrive at least 30 minutes early for your first class in order to check-in and find the right sized skates before class starts. Skates should be a snug fit and there should not be any loose or dangling laces. Dress for warmth (layers are best) and wear non-restrictive clothing. Don’t forget knee-high socks and gloves. Not all ages and levels are taught at all class times. Look for class time options for each level on the Class Schedule printed inside the Ice Skating Lessons brochure. If you are interested in Learn to Play Hockey or Learn to Speed Skate, you should sign up for them after passing the recommended basic skills levels for each discipline. Basic 3 or Adult 2 levels are recommended for Hockey, and Basic 4 or Adult 2 levels are recommended for Speed Skating.

The facility has tremendous potential as a winter training ground for recreational runners as well as high school and college track and field athletes. The Oval is one of the rare indoor track facilities in the state, providing year-round training capabilities in a climate-controlled temperature of 63-65 degrees. Bobsled Rules & Safety Requirements The Comet Bobsled ride is a highly physical and extreme experience, generating up to 4-5 times the force of gravity. We strongly discourage anyone with chronic neck problems, back or kidney problems, heart problems, recent surgery, and/or high blood pressure from riding the Comet Bobsled. Anyone questioning their health status or experiencing hesitations should not ride the Comet bobsled. Please note that there is a possibility of injury whether the above listed conditions and symptoms apply to you or not. If you are pregnant you may not ride the Comet Bobsled. Riders must be at least 16 years of age or older and at least 100 lbs. to ride. Proof of age may be requested and a parent or guardian must be present to sign waiver for riders younger than 18 years of age. Based on your sense of adventure, our courses offer challenges for all abilities. Plus, don't miss the thrilling Drop Tower with Zipline! Discovery Adventure Course This entry-level course is designed to challenge the Park’s youngest adventurers. Adults are welcome up to the specified weight limits, please be prepared to duck around obstacles, crawl through tight spaces, and climb on elements sized for smaller individuals. The Discovery Course is accessed at the Two Towers Entry located in the Nordic Plaza. Ages 5 and older. UOP STRONGLY RECOMMENDS adult participation with those ages 7 & younger. Adventurers must weigh a minimum of 35 lbs. and a maximum of 215 lbs. to participate. Adventurers must also be able to pull themselves back onto the element in case of a fall. Canyon Adventure Course This intermediate-level course is designed to test one's abilities with log traverses, swinging elements, and problem-solving features. Participants should be prepared to be at heights up to 25 feet in the air where their agility, balance, and coordination will be tested. After gearing up at the Adventure Center, the Canyon Course is accessed by taking the Oak Trail. Located in Trackside Plaza. For ages 7 & older. UOP STRONGLY RECOMMENDS adult participation with those ages 9 & younger. Youth under 7 years of age MUST complete the Discover Course and receive an Adventure Card from a course operator prior to attempting the Canyon Course. Participants must weigh a minimum of 45 lbs. and a maximum of 275 lbs. Participants must also be able to pull themselves back onto the element in case of a fall. UOP strongly recommends that participants begin with the Discovery Course prior to attempting the Canyon Course. Summit Adventure Course This advanced-level course is designed to test even the strongest athletes with wire traverses, swinging elements, and problem-solving features. Zipline to Drop Tower This advanced-level adventure is designed to test the thrill-seekers with a 377-foot long zipline high above the treetops finishing at the 65-foot high Drop Tower. From the Drop Tower there is ONLY ONE WAY DOWN – simply step off the platform for an exhilarating, 65-foot free fall. The Drop Tower will challenge the mental fortitude of even the toughest participant. After gearing up at the Adventure Center, the Drop Tower is accessed by taking the Bridges Trail to the start platform. Located in Trackside Plaza. Participants must weigh a minimum of 45 lbs. and a maximum of 260 lbs. including safety equipment. UOP REQUIRES adult participation with youth under age 9.     Many freestyle aerialists train throughout the summer in the splash pool, working on their maneuvers for the upcoming winter season. The sliding athletes in bobsled, luge and skeleton make multiple trips to the Park for training and competition year-round. The U.S. Nordic ski jumpers regularly train on the Nordic hills adjacent to the Park. In addition to Olympic-caliber athletes, the Park is home to a number of recreational, club and developmental athletes. For those interested in Learn-To and Development Programs available at the Park, click here. The chance to watch aspiring youth and Olympic athletes in training is an exciting part of the Utah Olympic Park experience. There is no cost to watch athletes train.
