To honor other sliding tracks from around the world, we added a 'kreisel' feature - a 300 degree sweeping turn at the end of the run. And since we wanted the ride to be fun for everyone, we added easily controllable sleds to allow riders - including kids - to go as fast or slow as they want. The sliding athletes in bobsled, luge and skeleton make multiple trips to the Park for training and competition. The U.S. Nordic ski jumpers regularly train on the Nordic hills. In addition to the Olympic-caliber athletes, many recreational, club and developmental athletes train and compete at the Utah Olympic Park year round. The chance to watch aspiring youth and Olympic athletes in training is an exciting part of the Utah Olympic Park experience. Watching athletes train is free. Your ride starts at the edge the K120 jump, at which point the force of gravity takes over and propels you to 50 mph, which is fairly close to the speeds of world-class ski jumpers. There are even two Xtreme ziplines, so you can fly alongside a jumping partner for the whole ride. We also have a tamer and more kid-friendly Ultra zipline to try before stepping up to the big one. The Ultra Zipline is bit shorter and less steep, but still a lot of fun. Perfect for younger kids or adults who want to buzz over our Freestyle Jumps. There is no age limit, but there is a weight limit of 100-275 pound for the Xtreme and 50-275 for the Ultra. Schedules & Pricing Classes are held year-round once a week for six weeks on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Saturday sessions may also be offered. 6 Class Session Fee is $60 ($10 discount will be applied for early registration, paid 24-hours prior to start of first class. U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills annual registration fee is included. Rental skates and helmets (required for ages 8 and under) are included in cost. Skates should be a snug fit and there should not be any loose or dangling laces. Dress for warmth (layers are best) and wear non-restrictive clothing. Don’t forget knee-high socks and gloves. Not all ages and levels are taught at all class times. Look for class time options for each level on the Class Schedule printed inside the Ice Skating Lessons brochure. If you are interested in Learn to Play Hockey or Learn to Speed Skate, you should sign up for them after passing the recommended basic skills levels for each discipline. Basic 3 or Adult 2 levels are recommended for Hockey, and Basic 4 or Adult 2 levels are recommended for Speed Skating.

The facility has tremendous potential as a winter training ground for recreational runners as well as high school and college track and field athletes. The Oval is one of the rare indoor track facilities in the state, providing year-round training capabilities in a climate-controlled temperature of 63-65 degrees.
